A Goal Funnel analyses the steps a visitor takes on your website or in an e-commerce process until they reach a specific goal. The sale of a product (conversion) can be seen as a goal. By configuring your Google Analytics Pixel in the Backoffice, tracking is fired on every step of the Frontoffice proces, consisting 5 steps total. In order to set up the Goal Funnel successfully, you should follow the steps below.
Step 1 - Create a new goals
Once logged onto Google Analytics, under the tab 'Admin' it is possible to select 'Goals' and click on 'New goal'.
Step 2 - Custom set up
Step 3 - Name + type
Name your Goal and select the 'Destination' option.
Step 4 - Fill out the goal details
Make sure you select the 'regular expression' option and fill out the following information: (.*?)/Confirmation/Completed
Step 5 - Set up the funnel steps
Turn on the funnel option and fill out the following information for in each column:
- Tickets: (.*?)/Tickets
- Login: (.*?)/Register|(.*?)/Login|(.*?)/PersonalData
- Overview: (.*?)/Overview
- Payment: (.*?)/Payment
- PSP: (.*?)/PSP
Finally save your settings by selecting 'Save'.
Step 6 - Set up the funnel steps (Recommended)
We strongly recommend to enable e-commerce tracking. By enabling this, it is possible to see order related insights in Analytics (conversions, order value, productnames etc.) You can find the 'E-Commerce setup' in the 'Admin' menu.
