A Goal Funnel analyses the process steps a visitor undertakes on the website before arriving at a certain ‘goal’. A sale can be seen as a goal or conversion. By using the configuration from the Back office, Google Analytics tracking is carried out in every stage of the Paylogic Front office process, which constitutes of five steps in total. Please go through the steps below to correctly set up a Goal Funnel.
Step 1: Creating a new goal
Log in to Google Analytics, and create a new goal by selecting ‘+New Goal’, below the header ‘Goals’.
Step 2: Custom goal configuration
Select ‘Adjusted’ on the next page.
Step 3: Goal description name + type
Next, give the goal a description by giving it a name. Select ‘Destination’ below ‘Type’.
Step 4: Goal details
Indicate the goal details in the next step. Select ‘Regular expression’ and enter the following text: (.*?)/Confirmation/Completed
Step 5: Funnel
Turn on the ‘Funnel’ function, after which the following steps should be entered.
- Tickets: (.*?)/Tickets
- Login: (.*?)/Register|(.*?)/Login|(.*?)/PersonalData
- Overview: (.*?)/Overview
- Payment: (.*?)/Payment
- PSP: (.*?)/PSP
Don’t forget to save the goal details by selecting ‘Save’ at the bottom. After everything is saved, the Goal Funnel will be measured.
Step 6: Turning e-commerce tracking on (recommended)
It is recommended to activate e-commerce tracking. This allows the viewing of the order contents in Google Analytics (order amount, conversions, product name, etc.) To do this, go ‘Manage’, and turn the option on below the header ‘E-commerce settings’.
