Creating a discount code

Creating a discount code

This article explains how to set up a discount code. A discount code allows a fixed amount or percentage to be deducted during checkout.

Creating a Voucher Group

  1. Go to ‘Dashboard’ and select the desired event.
  2. In the bar on the left navigate to ‘Tools’ and then ‘Vouchers’.
  3. Check the box ‘Enable discount for this event’ and save your changes. (Contact your Client Success Manager if this option is not visible).
  4. At the bottom under ‘New voucher group name’, enter the title of the voucher group. Use a title that makes sense for you to identify later. This title is not visible to consumers, only in the Backoffice.
  5. Under ‘Voucher group type’, select the button for ‘Discount voucher’ and then click ‘Add voucher group’.

Voucher Group Settings

  1. Click on the voucher group you just created.
  2. Add your discount code(s). This can be done in two ways:  - Manually: Click the pink button ‘Add’ and enter your own discount code(s). To add more, repeat this step. - CSV file: Upload your own CSV file with multiple discount codes or use this tool to generate discount codes.
  3. Select the product for which the discount should apply.
  4. Decide how much of a discount (in euros or percentage) the code should provide. This can be done in two ways:- ‘Amount or percentage’: Enter the amount in euros that the code should provide. - ‘Discount percentage’: Enter the percentage that the code should provide.
  5. Specify the start and end dates for when the discount code(s) will be valid and can be entered.
  6. If you are using a generic discount code (e.g., discount5), keep ‘No maximum availability’ checked. In this case, the code will be valid indefinitely within the set period above. If you are using unique discount codes that may only be used once, uncheck ‘No maximum availability’ and enter '1' in ‘Maximum availability’.

Optional

  1. Choose the minimum and/or maximum number of tickets per order with a discount. (If you have already set the amount or percentage at the product level, leave this option open).
  2. If you want to apply a discount to the entire order rather than specific products, enter the desired amount or percentage under ‘Amount/percentage discount on the order’.
  3. Click ‘Save changes’.

Making the voucher code valid for a ticket shop

  1. Go to ‘Sales Configuration’.
  2. Click the three dots on the right of the desired ticket shop where the discount code should work and go to ‘Edit Sale'.
  3. Scroll down and click on ‘Advanced Settings’.
  4. Check your created discount group.
  5. Then click ‘Save changes’.

Idea
Tip: Finally, test whether the settings are correct by testing the code you created in the shop.
