Creating a Discount Code

Creating a Discount Code

In this article, you'll learn how to set up a discount code. A discount code allows a fixed amount or percentage to be deducted during checkout.

Creating a Voucher Group

1. Go to 'Manage' and select the desired event.

2. In the grey column, navigate to 'Vouchers'.

3. Check the box 'Enable discounts for this event' and then save it. Contact your Client Success Manager if this option is not yet visible.

4. At the bottom, enter the title of the voucher group under 'New voucher group name'. Use a title that makes sense for you to find. This title is not visible to the consumer, only in the Backoffice.

5. Select 'Discount voucher' for 'Voucher group type' and then click 'Add Voucher Group'.

Voucher Group Settings

6. Click on your newly created voucher group.

7. Add your discount code(s). This can be done in two ways:

  • Manual: Click on the pink button 'Add' and enter your own discount code(s). If you want to add multiple, repeat this step.

  • CSV file: Upload your own CSV file with multiple discount codes or use this tool to create discount codes.

8. Select the product for which the discount should apply.

9. Decide how much euro or what percentage discount the code should give. This can be done in 2 ways:

  • 'Discount amount': Enter the amount of euro discount the code should give.

  • 'Discount percentage': Enter the percentage, the code should give.

10. Specify the start and end date when the discount code(s) are valid and can be used.

11. 'No maximum availability':

  • If you use a generic discount code (for example: discount5), keep 'No maximum availability' checked. In that case, the code is valid indefinitely within the period set above.

  • If you use unique discount codes that may only be used once, deselect 'No maximum availability' and enter '1' for 'Maximum availability'.

Optional

  • Choose the minimum and/or maximum number of tickets per order with discount.

  • Have you already set the amount or percentage at the product level in step 9? Then leave this option open.

  • Want to give a discount on the entire order and not on specific products? Skip steps 8 and 9 and enter the desired amount or percentage under 'Order discount amount/percentage'.

12. Click on 'Save Changes'.

Making Voucher Code Valid for a Ticket Shop

1. Go to 'Sales Configuration' in the grey column on the left.

2. Select your desired ticket shop where the discount code should work.

3. Click on the black button 'Edit' on the right.

4. Scroll down and click on 'Advanced Settings'.

5. Check your created discount group.

6. Click on the pink button 'Save Changes'.

Tip: Finally, test whether the settings are correct by testing the code itself in the shop.
