What is GDPR?

Core of GDPR
Personal information includes any form of information that directly or indirectly relates to or can be related to a natural person. The rules of GDPR apply to the processing of personal information, whether fully or partially, depending on automation. Additionally, the legislation applies to the personal information included in the database.

The GDPR is supported by eight key principles when processing personal information. According to these principles, information must be:
  1. Processed fairly, lawfully, and transparently.
  2. Processed for specific, legitimate purposes.
  3. Adequate, relevant, and not excessive in relation to the purposes of processing.
  4. Accurate and up-to-date.
  5. Not kept longer than necessary.
  6. Processed in accordance with the rights of data subjects.
  7. Protected in appropriate ways.
  8. Not transferred outside the European Economic Area (EEA) unless that country or area also ensures an adequate level of protection.
